Executive Board Meeting Agenda

1. Roll Call: Lisa Dullum, Stacy Adamson, Karen Kraft, Deanna Paulson, Christopher Strand, Jolene Sand, Deb Beeler, Jolene Beckman, Kaila Margheim
2. Review of last meeting minutes
3. Committee Reports
a. Membership (Kraft, Willgohs, Smalley)
i. Update-699 members- motion passed to reimburse Lisa $25 for work spent inputting employee numbers for members into database.
ii. Process for new enrollment forms after 9/30/15. If people ask they can sign up anytime! See Karen for elementary and Christopher for secondary.
b. Communications/ Social Media (Beckman)
i. One 1 page advocate each month posted to social media. Krista Hulderman and Megan Broton are assisting in this.
c. Public Relations (Gorney, Sand)
i. Stacy- items for grant: New member social, book drive, united way support (flyer/poster), Bell ringing (talk to Mark Berntsen), fill the dome.
1. Social- have each person bring an item for fill the dome. Kjesta, Karen, and Stacy will meet. (Tuesday Nov. 10- member social)
d. Government Relations (Strand, Dullum)
i. VOICE/Bond Referendum (Dullum)
1. NDU will be donating $750 to VOICE. Do we want to donate?- We CAN donate, it would come through PAC not dues money.
a. Possibly bring up potential motion to donate at next RA.
b. Brochures/banners/yard signs will be printed out
2. If people inquire about donations to the family of the member that was killed in bus accident in Kindred, direct them to KEA- Linda Cose- President.
a. Stacy will ask building reps to send out a message asking for donations for Cathy Jostad.
e. IPD (Strand)
i. Issues in Ed Class
1. Christopher is putting a class together, start date TBD. Syllabus is pretty much set. If you have topic ideas- email Christopher.
f. Secretary’s Report- no report
g. Treasurer’s Report
i. Member Recruitment Costs
1. Misc.- limit the amount of money to host a social
ii. Alternate for Negotiations Change of Payment Request
1. changing cost of alternate negotiator from $600 to $599
iii. Membership – Unpaid Members
h. Vice President’s Report-
i. need a volunteer to make a united way flyer- Lisa volunteered.
i. President’s Report
4. Create a document/handbook (for website/to be emailed out) that includes the following things, please think of any others to add:
a. WFEA Exec Board, Contact information and Committees
b. WFEA Member Rights and Contact Information
c. WFEA Building Reps and Contact Information
d. WFEA Bylaws
e. ND Teacher Code of Conduct
f. Negotiated Agreement
g. Flow chart or list of who to contact with questions- contact Tammy or Mark. It's up to those two to make sure it's brought to the president's attention.
h. How does an item/concern get to the Advisory Communications Panel (this goes along with item #7)
a. Panel is WFEA President, Dr. Flowers, School Board President.
i. Others???
a. School board policy- staff
5. Absence on PD/PLC Days and makeup requirements
a. if you miss a PLC you will need to fill out a form.
